The Queen of Cupcake Bath Bombs

Today, I'm featuring an artisan who makes truly delectable bath and body products, Carlee at FB Essentials. We met online through a team and discovered we actually live fairly close. Not only will I be stopping in soon to try out one of her nearly world famous cupcake bath bombs. I also discovered that Carlee makes her products without the use of a base. That's right! Everything is from scratch! Check out our interview and stop by her shop, FB Essentials, to sample her products for yourself.

So, I'm totally obsessed with quotes. What quote really inspires or speaks to you?
The quote that inspires me is one from my oldest daughter. When she was 5 years old I went to school to become an Operating Engineer (Heavy Equipment Operator). I was really scared that first day, and she grabbed my face, pulled me close to her's, and said, "When you gotta hunt, go hunt." Yes, I know it sounds silly, but it made so much sense and completely spoke to me. So, everytime I am feeling nervous and about to set off on something new or scary I tell my self, "when you gotta hunt, go hunt."

What would you say is your specialty?
Although I Iove everything that I make, I would have to say my specialty is Cupcake Bath Bombs. I make hundreds every month. It is a really nice feeling to know that something I made is a part of someone's special day, be it baby shower, birthday, or wedding. In a small way I helped bring someone's vision to reality.

How long have you been on Etsy? Do you sell elsewhere?
I just celebrated my 2 year Etsy-versary in June. I love using Etsy as my selling platform. It has brought so many people into my little piece of bubble land. It makes me feel proud to know that the bath and body goodies I made in my little house in Flowery Branch,Ga (where?
) are all over the world! Literally, I have customers in Japan, Australia, China, Isreal, Malasia, The Netherlands, France, UK, Canada, and other faraway places. I never imagined I could be global without ever leaving my home!

I also have my own website -- www.fbessentials.com -- and I have a space in a shop in Gainesville, Ga called Baby Tracks. I also sell my handmade soaps, lotions, and other goodies at local craft fairs and have a few out of state vacation rentals that use my items for their guests.

It is truely incredible to think that the whole reason I began making natural bath and body was because my youngest daughter developed SEVERE Eczema as a baby. I guess you just never know where life will take you. I love what I do and make, and my passion comes through.

Out of all the products you create, which is your favorite?
I have three that are my favorites. My 100% Handmade Shampoo, Extreme Conditioning Hair Mask, and my 100% Handmade Lotion. I make my products completely from scratch. I don't like to use ready made bases because they all have at least one ingredient that I don't want in my products. I try to create my goodies with the most natural ingredients possible and the only way to do that is to start from scratch.
